New possibilities with a new type of fireproof air duct system [ 07.04.2011 ]
It is impossible to imagine a modern building without engineering systems providing indoor fire-safety for people. Urgency of this problem and continuous aspiration of chief experts of PROVENTO to invent a competitive product led them to creation of innovative product protected by the patent ¹101784.
In August, 2010 the new air ducts – «Air ducts on flanges from a steel strip for fireproofing» according to Terms of reference 4863-004-58590348-2010 were developed and started in manufacture.
All requirements of normative rules to fire-proof air-ducts as well as to the rough materials it is made of were carefully considered. The substantial experience of Russian Research Institute for Fire Protection of EMERCOM of Russia has been used during the developing and testing of fire-protected air duct in wide dimensional range.

3. Minimal possible metal thickness offers undeniable advantages:
a. Costs of air ducts is decreased;
b. Decreased duct weight brings additional benefits at installation and buildings exploitation.
4. The steel strip as a material of entire dimensional range of flanges offers such advantages:
a. Air duct costs is decreased, since a strip is cheaper than an corner profile;
b. Decreased flange weight brings additional benefits at installation and buildings exploitation;
c. Decreased leakage rate is guaranteed by direct adjacent of joined sections by it body edges with sealant between them. Welded ducts are joined by flanges which not allow reaching similar airproofness.
Thanks to aforesaid technical and design features «Metal air ducts on flanges from a steel strip for fireproofing» produced according to Terms of reference 4863-004-58590348-2010 have successfully passed fire-testing Russian Research Institute for Fire Protection of EMERCOM of Russia
The given fact is confirmed by the official letter ¹ 13-2-04/4597 from 8/18/2010 which allows applying the given type of air ducts as a part of fireproof air duct systems with various types of fire retardants and coatings with fire resistance limits: EI 15, EI 30, EI 45, EI 60, EI 90.
